In addition to being a successful novelist, Louisa May Alcott was a pioneer on many fronts. Her parents provided a stop on the Underground Railroad and she was a suffragist, a feminist, a Civil War nurse, and active in the temperance movement. Tonight Utah Vocal Arts Academy celebrates women in the arts by featuring songs by female composers and lyricists.
